Chrisland High School Ikeja Marks Book Day

It was a celebration of the arts today at Chrisland High School Ikeja, during this year’s edition of the school’s annual Book Day, this year’s edition was tagged “Soar on the Wings of Imagination".

The event was graced by many secondary schools in Lagos, including other units of Chrisland Schools. The guest speaker, Mr Seun Odukoya, an award-winning writer, extolled the virtues of reading. He asserted that reading improves the imagination of the reader; he encouraged the students to cultivate a healthy reading culture.

The young thespians from Chrisland High School Festac Area, entertained the audience with a comic playlet. There was an impromptu Speechmaking competition among the invited schools; Christ College claimed the first position.

The highlight of the event was the avant-garde approach to the poetic rendition of George Herbert’s masterpiece, “The Pulley” by two students of Chrisland High School Ikeja.
