SAT, TOEFL, IELTS and ACT Programmes


Chrisland Pre Degree College offers Scholarstic Aptitude Test (SAT 1 & 2), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) programme. There is no stringent pre requisite or entrance aptitude for these programmes since these are joint certificates which aim at ascertaining the capabilities of international candidates for university admission and to facilitate their personal application for scholarships at various undergraduate levels in American Universities.

However, It is advised that candidates for this programme should have had either “0” level certificate or both O and A level certificates before attempting any of these programmes. Candidates signing up for this programme are expected to undergo tutorials for a substantial time frame to adequately prepare them for these examinations.

Chrisland Pre-degree is a sixth form college of Chrisland Schools. The College was established on the 27th of September, 2010. The college started with seven (7) students in its first year and as at today, the college students’ population is thirty-nine (39) The sixth form education expectations are high; therefore the challenge to be among the best in the sixth form educational service is constantly pursued. - Mrs. Tinuke Agomoh

Chrisland Pre-Degree College offers admissions to students from the age of 16 years and above. Students should have a minimum of six credits including English and Mathematics in the SSCE examinations. Students with IGSCE certificates (United Kingdom pathway) can also be admitted into the College. Our admissions dates are in September and late entry in January.
There is an excellent pastoral care and support system in the college. Students are properly guided and mentored by the hostel master and mistress, and by the parent teachers to help them develop excellent moral, spiritual, emotional, social and academic standards.

Cambridge International AS and A Level qualifications are vastly recognized and accepted by universities and employers in different parts of the world. The Cambridge syllabus is designed in such a way as to give candidates an in depth awareness of the subject matter and enable critical assessment and evaluation. Chrisland College, Idimu runs curricula that incorporate Nigeria, British and American scheme of work and teaching methods. In Year 7 to 11 innovative departments include Mathematics, Vocational, Social Science, Science, Technology, Computer Skills, Arts, Home Management, and Languages. Year 12 pupils are prepared for both locally and the internationally recognized examinations that enable them to gain admission to either local or international Universities. The examinations include West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) by the National Examination Council (NECO) and University Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB/UTME), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The counseling unit has two professional counselors with Masters Degree in Guidance & Counseling. The unit specializes in helping all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/ social development and career development, ensuring today’s students become the productive, well – adjusted adults of tomorrow. At the beginning of each session, orientation is organised for new students in order to help them settle down into their new environment, relieve them of homesickness, help them avoid bed wetting and provide a shoulder to rest on. The unit also guides the transition classes (Year 9 and 12) in making the right selection and choosing a career through the use of a psychological diagnostic test. The final year students are also helped by the unit to prepare for life after College by introducing them to Skill Development, Leadership Programmes, and Community Service.
Chrisland College Idimu which occupies over fifty acres of land in the serene countryside of Lagos state aims to develop every student’s talent, especially in games and sports to bring out the best in them to compete with the world-class athlete in any chosen sports also to ensure a good place for our students in schools abroad. The College operates a full boarding system and our Dormitories are manned by competent, caring house staffs who are constantly motivated to treat the students as their own children. There are nine Dormitories; five for the boys and four for the girls, with an average of 77 students per Dormitory and 4 students per Room. The Rooms are well – ventilated and en-suite. Each of the Dormitories has a large and spacious central dining hall, reading room, well – furnished common room. The management ensures that the students are well fed and catered for, hence cooked food and provisions are not allowed at home. Sporting, academic fairs, moral talks, seminars are put in place to nurture and stimulate the students to be and give their best at all times. Our Kitchen is sanitary, well equipped and the Kitchen staffs were tested, certified and medically fit to handle students’ food. The Caterers are constantly coming up with innovative menus to cater for students. There is also a provision of a tuck – shop located near the administrative block, it allows the students to purchase other needed items by using their voucher. Parents are encouraged to give their children the moderate sum of pocket money which should be deposited with the bursar of the College for proper monitoring and accountability. Sick Bay – this is the student’s medical department of the College where minor ailments/injury, health education, and general student’s well-being are handled. The bay comprises of a visiting Doctor and 5 well trained registered Nurses that runs 24 hours duty. Major cases are referred to the College Hospital. The Sick Bay is well equipped with modern instruments/gadgets like sterilizer, nebulizer, weighing scale, fire extinguisher, stretcher, a standby ambulance, computer system, 24 hours electric power supply, oxygen cylinder and its accessories.
Chrisland College, being the flagship of all the Chrisland Secondary Schools adopted a suitable co-curricular activity suitable for its system. Though all the clubs are recreational in nature they add value to the students at large. Students are expected to choose their club of preference which lasts for a term.
